Regular Season Round 19: Forestville E. - Woodville W. 93-59
Date: July 10, 2021
There was no surprise in Goodwood where 7th ranked Woodville Warriors (5-8) were crushed by second ranked Forestville Eagles (9-4) 93-59 on Saturday. Forestville Eagles forced 21 Woodville Warriors turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Woodville Warriors' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Forestville Eagles made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for naturalized South Sudanese forward Malith Machar (198, college: Midland CC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists. Michael Harris helped adding 14 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Forestville Eagles players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Joe Jackson (201, college: IU Southeast) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks and guard Daniel McKee scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forestville Eagles maintains second place in League with 9-4 record having four points less than leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Woodville Warriors dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Forestville Eagles will meet Central District Lions (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Woodville Warriors will play against the league's leader Sturt Sabres and hope to secure a win.
