Regular Season Round 19: SC Phoenix - Logan T. 74-67

There was a surprise result in Cotton Tree where tenth ranked Phoenix (5-5) beat leader Thunder (9-1) 74-67 on Saturday. They outrebounded Thunder 49-28 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for naturalized Maltese center Nelson Kahler (206-94, college: CSU-Pueblo) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Darnell Robateau (185, college: PLNU) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-88, college: Bellarmine) responded with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Mitch Young (206-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Thunder's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Phoenix moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Thunder still keeps top position with one game lost. Phoenix will meet Cairns Marlins (#11) on the road in the next round. Thunder will play against the league's second-placed Mackay Meteors (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
