The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hawks as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Hawks smashed 14th ranked Slammers in Floreat 95-69. Hawks forced 24 Slammers turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Andrew Ferguson (213-98, college: CS Monterey) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and guard Ryan Smith (192-92) who added 19 points during the contest. Five Hawks players scored in double figures. Caleb Van De Griend responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and center Leigh Rickwood-Pitt (205-3) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Slammers at the other side keep the fourteenth place with ten games lost. Slammers will play next round against Giants trying to get back on the winning streak. Hawks will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Wanneroo at Joondalup.
