There was a minor upset when their close opponent Eagles (4-12) were edged by eleventh ranked Buccaneers (4-11) in Morley 75-72 on Saturday. The winners were led by naturalized South Sudanese swingman Mathiang Muo (196-87, college: Charleston So.) who scored that evening 21 points and 8 rebounds and Elijah Barbour supported him with 27 points. Even a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds by American power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) did not help to save the game for Eagles. Forward Andrej Donlagic (197-97) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Eagles' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Buccaneers went down to twelfth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Eagles dropped to the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. Buccaneers will meet at home higher ranked Redbacks (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Eagles will play against Senators (#5) in Perth and hope to secure a win.
