No shocking result in a game when second ranked Forestville Eagles (10-5) crushed 4th ranked Central District Lions (7-8) in Gawler 111-90 on Sunday. Forestville Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Central District Lions' 34. Forestville Eagles looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by naturalized South Sudanese forward Malith Machar (198, college: Midland CC) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) and Michael Harris supported him with 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by forward Shaquille Maharaj (196, college: Camosun) did not help to save the game for Central District Lions. Naturalized South Sudanese guard Lual Diing (203-94, college: TxWes) added 16 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Five Forestville Eagles and four Central District Lions players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forestville Eagles maintains second position in League with 10-5 record having four points less than leader Perry Lakes H. Loser Central District Lions dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Forestville Eagles will meet at home South Adelaide Panthers (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Central District Lions will play against Eastern Mavericks and hope to secure a win.
