Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Roar (3-8) was outscored by eighth ranked Northside Wizards (6-4) in Taigum 107-78 on Saturday. Northside Wizards outrebounded Roar 59-42 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Aiden Krause (193-0, college: UC Irvine) nailed 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Mitchell McCarron (189-92, college: MSU Denver) accounted for 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Northside Wizards players scored in double figures. Forward Kian Dennis (197-1) came up with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and Jai Blackman added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Roar in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Northside Wizards moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Roar keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Northside Wizards will meet at home Bendigo Braves (#8) in the next round. Roar will play against Townsville Heat (#3) and hope to secure a win.
