Everything went according to plan in Northbridge where fifth ranked Redbacks (12-6) beat 13th ranked Suns (4-15) 100-89 on Friday. Redbacks dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Suns' 46. They outrebounded Suns 50-35 including 38 on the defensive glass. Redbacks looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Suns' players. Power forward Louis Timms (206-91, college: WBU) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Belgian guard Marshall Nelson (188-94, college: WBU) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. New Zealand guard Joe Cook-Green (185-97, college: TxWes) produced 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists and guard Jermaine Malie (185-96) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Redbacks moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Suns keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Redbacks will meet league's second-placed Lightning in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Suns will play against the league's leader Hawks (#1) in Floreat and hope to secure a win.
