Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Geelong Supercats and 9th ranked Bendigo Braves had identical 8-6 record. This time Geelong Supercats used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Bendigo 90-80 on Saturday night. Forward George Blagojevic (203-97, college: Hartford) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners. New Zealand guard Shea Ili (184-92) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Point guard Brennan Rymer (183, college: Azusa Pacific) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Geelong Supercats went down to sixth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Bendigo Braves dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Geelong Supercats will meet at home Ballarat Miners (#9) in the next round. Bendigo Braves will play against Brisbane Spartans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
