There was an upset in East Burwood where higher ranked Geelong Supercats (9-6) were edged by twelfth ranked Spectres (7-7) 85-83 on Sunday. Spectres looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Thomas Wright fired 22 points and 6 assists for the winners. Power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American Isaac Turner (191-92, college: St.Vincent) produced 22 points and 4 assists and forward George Blagojevic (203-97, college: Hartford) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Spectres moved-up to eleventh place in League. Loser Geelong Supercats dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Spectres will meet at home higher ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Geelong Supercats will play against Ballarat Miners (#9) and hope to secure a win.
