Cougars smashed Steelers in McKinnon 100-68. Cougars made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Sharif Black (185-1996, college: Bemidji St.) stepped up and scored 29 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners and forward Tom Carroll (200-2003) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Naaman Hightower (201-1994, college: Sonoma St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Jack Gaze scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Steelers will play next round against strong Devils trying to get back on the winning streak. Cougars will try to continue on its current victory against Gulls in Melbourne.
