Regular Season Round 2: Camberwell - Hume City B. 91-88

The most exciting game of round 2 in the State League took place in Melbourne. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of Hume City Broncos to Camberwell 91-88 in the game for the fourth place. Camberwell looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Camberwell made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Jay Mackenzie who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks. Guard Luke Shelley (188-1991, college: KWC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Camberwell players scored in double figures. American point guard Christopher Elder (180-1989, college: St.Francis, IL) produced 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists and naturalized South Sudanese forward Makuei Puondak (203-1994, college: UT Southern) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Camberwell's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Melbourne Gulls.
