Regular Season Round 5: Bulleen B. - Chelsea G. 77-60

There was no surprise in Bulleen where 3rd placed Gulls (3-3) were defeated by leader Boomers (4-0) 77-60 on Saturday. Boomers forced 24 Gulls turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-1993) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-1988, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 9 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Tamara Booth produced 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Sammie Simmons (173-1990) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Boomers maintains first place in League with 4-0 record. Loser Gulls dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Boomers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gulls will play against Jets (#6) in Sunbury and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
