Regular Season Round 7: Rockingham F. - Lakeside L. 101-103

An interesting game took place in Rockingham where sixth ranked Lightning (2-1) edged by two points 8th ranked Flames (1-2) 103-101 on Friday night. Lightning made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Flames turnovers. Strangely Flames outrebounded Lightning 39-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Caitlyn Jones (175-2001, college: Idaho) who led her team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. American swingman Sara Dickey (177-1995, college: Evansville) helped adding 31 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side German forward Patricia Brossmann (183-1997, college: San Diego) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Christina Boag (188-1991) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Flames players scored in double figures. Lightning moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Flames dropped to the ninth position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
