Rather predictable result in Wantirna South where thirteenth ranked Knox Raiders (4-3) defeated 16th ranked Lady Cobras (3-5) 67-53 on Saturday. Knox Raiders forced 19 Lady Cobras turnovers. The best player for the winners was Leah Santomaggio who scored 19 points. Forward Alicia Froling (190-1996, college: SMU) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Knox Raiders' coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Nikita Young who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-1996, agency: LBM Management) added 4 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks respectively. Knox Raiders moved-up to tenth place in League. Loser Lady Cobras dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Knox Raiders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lady Cobras will play against Rangers (#20) and hope to secure a win.
