There was an upset when higher ranked Spectres (5-2) were edged by twelfth ranked Sabres (4-4) in Cheltenham 83-82 on Saturday. New Zealand guard Shea Ili (184-1992) notched 20 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and the former international power forward David Okwera (213-2002) supported him with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Sabres players scored in double figures. Sabres' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by American center Dain Swetalla (206-1986, college: Augustana, IL) did not help to save the game for Spectres. Jack Gandolfo added 15 points and 5 assists. Sabres moved-up to eleventh place in League. Loser Spectres dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Sabres will meet Tigers (#15) in the next round. Spectres will play against Thunder (#18) and hope to secure a win.
