Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Spectres (5-2) defeated 16th ranked Thunder (1-6) in East Burwood 90-81 on Sunday. Spectres made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American center Dain Swetalla (206-1986, college: Augustana, IL) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Jack Gandolfo accounted for 23 points and 7 assists for the winning side. American forward Jacob Lampkin (206, college: Alaska-Anch.) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Tyler Kidd (196, college: Ohio Northern) added 20 points and 9 assists respectively for Thunder in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spectres moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Thunder dropped to the eighteenth position with six games lost. Spectres will meet at home Kilsyth Cobras (#7) in the next round. Thunder will play against Ballarat Miners (#6) and hope to win that game.
