Regular Season Round 19: McKinnon C. - Sunbury J. 82-88

An interesting game for Jets (8-1) which played road game in McKinnon against 3rd placed Cougars (6-2). Second ranked Jets managed to get a 6-point victory 88-82. It was a great evening for American forward Gerald Blackshear (205-1997, college: Detroit) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Maxwell Barkeley helped adding 28 points. Four Jets players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Sharif Black (185-1996, college: Bemidji St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Nicholas Laycock scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jets maintains second place in League with 8-1 record having just three point less than leader Canberra G. Cougars at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. Jets will play against Vikings (#5) in Melbourne in the next round. Cougars will play on the road against Steelers in Western Port and hope to get back on the winning track.
