Not a big story in a game in Maitland where 9th ranked Mustangs (2-7) were rolled over by third ranked Lady Bandits (7-2) 112-77. Lady Bandits dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Mustangs' 48. Lady Bandits forced 19 Mustangs turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Lady Bandits brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. American center Lauren Jackson (190, college: Lindsey Wilson) notched a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Japanese guard Ai Yamada (170-1995) supported her with 27 points and 8 assists. Four Lady Bandits players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists by swingman Mikaela Dombkins (181-1986) did not help to save the game for Mustangs. Rachel Williams added 4 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Lady Bandits maintains third position in League with 7-2 record behind leader Bendigo LB. Mustangs at the other side keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Lady Bandits will play against league's second-placed Sharks in Sutherland in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mustangs will play on the road against Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (#4) in Narrabeen and hope to get back on the winning track.
