There was no surprise in Booval where 12th ranked Force (1-7) was outplayed by fourth ranked Brisbane Spartans (5-1) 104-61 on Saturday. Brisbane Spartans dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Force's 28 and had 21 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Force only scored three points from the stripe. Brisbane Spartans forced 24 Force turnovers and outrebounded them 42-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Force's players. Power forward Nadeen Payne (188-1993, agency: LBM Management) fired 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. New Zealand forward Kalani Purcell (188-1995, college: BYU) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Brisbane Spartans players scored in double figures. Guard Tia Hay (170, college: Santa Clara) produced 14 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Kasey Burton (178-1996) added 9 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Force's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Brisbane Spartans moved-up to third place in League. Loser Force keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
