Bottom-ranked Pirates is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Wizards (6-1) 80-73 on Saturday evening. Wizards forced 21 Pirates turnovers. The former international point guard Tiana Mangakahia (168-1995, college: Syracuse) notched 40 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and Alice ODriscoll supported her with 6 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Bride Kennedy-Hopoate (193-1997, college: N.Mexico) did not help to save the game for Pirates. Swingman Stephanie Bairstow (188-1994, college: Utah St.) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Wizards moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Pirates still closes the standings with eight games lost. They share the position with Hobart C.. Wizards will meet Force (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pirates will play against Seahawks and hope to get finally their first victory.
