Regular Season Round 23: Gold Coast R. - RedCity R. 86-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Roar's (2-5) road loss to ninth ranked Rollers (5-5) in Gold Coast 72-86 on Saturday. Rollers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Roar's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Lauren Mansfield (170-1989, college: Iowa St.) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. American center Angela Beadle (190-1993, college: SHSU) accounted for 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Ariana Moorer (172-1991, college: Virginia) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Mia Loyd (181-1994, college: N.Dakota) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Roar in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rollers maintains ninth place in League with 5-5 record. Loser Roar keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Rollers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Roar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Brisbane Capitals.
