There was no surprise in Melbourne where 5th ranked Camberwell (6-8) was defeated by third ranked Cougars (8-4) 98-82 on Saturday. Cougars made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Cougars outrebounded Camberwell 46-35 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Nathan Davis (193-1998, college: Seton Hill) scored 40 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Sharif Black (185-1996, college: Bemidji St., agency: Hamriding Sports Management) chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Brendan Trewella responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and guard Luke Shelley (188-1991, college: KWC) scored 21 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars maintains third position in League with 8-4 record behind leader Mackay M. Loser Camberwell keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
