The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lady Braves as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Lady Braves smashed 15th ranked Frankston Blues in Bendigo 102-65. Lady Braves dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Frankston Blues' 30. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Lady Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Frankston Blues' players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Tess Madgen (183-1990) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Megan McKay (190-1997, college: St.Mary's, CA) who added 20 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Darcee Garbin (188-1994) with 20 points and 9 rebounds and guard Kate Gaze (173-1990, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 10 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Frankston Blues' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Frankston Blues at the other side dropped to the seventeenth place with eight games lost. Frankston Blues will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Lady Braves will try to continue on its current victory against fifteenth ranked Wildcats in Eltham.
