Regular Season Round 26: Keilor T. - Hobart C. 91-76

Bottom-ranked Chargers (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-76 loss to fifteenth ranked Thunder (5-7) in Melbourne on Sunday evening. They made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Monique Andriuolo (185-1998, college: Pepperdine) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). The former international guard Madeleine Garrick (178-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 assists and 5 steals. Four Thunder players scored in double figures. American forward Angela Tompkins (188-1991, college: Wichita St.) produced a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Paige Bradley (178-1994, college: Denver) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Chargers' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thunder maintains fifteenth position in League with 5-7 record. Chargers at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Thunder will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chargers will play at home against Rangers (#17) and hope to get finally their first victory.
