There was a surprise result in Heathmont where seventeenth ranked Tigers (2-9) edged higher ranked Ringwood Hawks (7-5) 77-75 on Wednesday. Strangely Ringwood Hawks outrebounded Tigers 45-28 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Mason Gaze (198, college: Lindenwood) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Michael Wearne (188-1996, college: St.Rose, NY) chipped in 19 points. American forward Kyle Daggett (198, college: Shepherd) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Emmett Naar (185-1994, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Ringwood Hawks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tigers maintains seventeenth place in League with 2-9 record. Loser Ringwood Hawks dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ringwood Hawks will play against Waverley Falcons (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
