There was no surprise in Launceston where 18th ranked Rangers (3-11) were outplayed by sixth ranked Tornadoes (9-4) 91-65 on Saturday. Tornadoes dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Rangers' 20. Tornadoes forced 21 Rangers turnovers and outrebounded them 43-24 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Guard Mariah Payne (170, college: Minot St.) chipped in 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Clare Camac produced 17 points and 4 assists and guard Makaela Zeldenryk (175, college: HPU) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Tornadoes and five Rangers players scored in double figures. Tornadoes moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Rangers keep the eighteenth position with 11 games lost.
