The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Rollers as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Rollers smashed bottom-ranked Brisbane Spartans in Gold Coast 126-69. Rollers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Brisbane Spartans' 38 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Rollers forced 21 Brisbane Spartans turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Preston Le Gassick (182-2003) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Tanner Krebs (198-1996, college: St.Mary's, CA) helped adding 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Rollers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jalen Canty (203-1995, college: UCSB, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Ben Hastings scored 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Brisbane Spartans at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
