Regular Season Round 40: Diamond V.E. - Dandenong R. 105-83

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Dandenong Rangers (5-13) were outleveled by thirteenth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (9-10) in Greensborough 105-83 on Sunday. Diamond Valley Eagles made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Dandenong Rangers turnovers. The winners were led by naturalized Canadian guard Dejan Vasiljevic (190-1997, college: Miami, FL) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Bj Symons supported him with 19 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Four Diamond Valley Eagles players scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Deng Puoch did not help to save the game for Dandenong Rangers. American guard Jacob Davison (193-1997, college: Cal Poly) added 20 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Diamond Valley Eagles moved-up to twelfth place in League. Loser Dandenong Rangers dropped to the seventeenth position with 13 games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles will meet at home Eltham Wildcats (#19) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dandenong Rangers will have a break next round.
