The most interesting game of round 37 was only one-point a home defeat of 4th placed Geelong Supercats (13-5) to third ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (14-4) 73-72 in the game for the third place. Guard Sherrie Calleia (172-1999) stepped up and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and American forward Haliegh Reinoehl (188-1998, college: Akron) chipped in 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American guard Alexandra Duck (170-1990, college: Murray St.) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Aimie Rocci scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mount Gambier Pioneers maintains third place in League with 14-4 record having six points less than leader Bendigo LB. Geelong Supercats at the other side keep the fourth position with five games lost. Mount Gambier Pioneers are looking forward to face Knox Raiders (#8) in Wantirna South in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Geelong Supercats will play on the road against Thunder (#11) in Melbourne and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
