Regular Season Round 44: SW Metro P. - SC Phoenix 82-111

Not a big story in a game in Runcorn where 16th ranked South West Metro Pirates (4-15) were rolled over by tenth ranked Phoenix (10-9) 111-82 on Sunday. Phoenix dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to South West Metro Pirates' 44 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded South West Metro Pirates 45-28 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Jamaal Robateau (196, college: Gardner-Webb) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Maltese center Nelson Kahler (206-1994, college: CSU-Pueblo) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Five Phoenix players scored in double figures. Guard Brendan Teys (188-1990) produced 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists and naturalized New Zealand swingman Zac Carter (203-1989) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Phoenix moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser South West Metro Pirates keep the sixteenth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
