Regular Season Round 4: Illawarra - Brisbane 56-82
Date: October 24, 2022
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Gwynneville where 9th ranked Illawarra Hawks (1-5) were outplayed by tenth ranked Bullets (1-5) 82-56 on Monday. Bullets had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Aron Baynes (208-1986, college: WSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and international guard Nathan Sobey (190-1990, college: Wyoming) who added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Bullets players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international power forward Samson Froling (212-2000, college: Creighton) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Tyler Harvey (194-1993, college: EWU) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bullets left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Illawarra. It was Illawarra Hawks' fourth loss in a row. Bullets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Illawarra Hawks will play against United (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
