The game in Hobart was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Cairns Taipans (10-5) played at the court of 5th ranked JackJumpers (8-8). Cairns Taipans managed to secure a 9-point victory 91-82 on Saturday. Cairns Taipans made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international power forward Keanu Pinder (205-1995, college: Arizona) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). American guard Tahjere McCall (193-1994, college: Tennessee St.) accounted for 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. American Milton Doyle (193-1993, college: Loyola, IL) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Jack McVeigh (203-1996, college: Nebraska) added 17 points respectively for JackJumpers in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JackJumpers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cairns Taipans have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 10-5 record. JackJumpers at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Cairns Taipans will meet United (#7) in the next round. JackJumpers will play against Illawarra Hawks and hope to secure a win.
