Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Townsville Fire (7-4) won against on the road 6th ranked Sydney Flames (4-9) 92-77 on Sunday. Townsville Fire dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sydney Flames' 22 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Townsville Fire looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Mikaela Ruef (191-1990, college: Stanford) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Stephanie Reid (168-1996, college: Buffalo) supported her with 15 points and 8 assists. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by the former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) did not help to save the game for Sydney Flames.
