But Noarlunga City Southern Tigers were not able to use a home court advantage and were crushed by the opponent from Goodwood 101-59 on Saturday night. Forestville Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Noarlunga City Southern Tigers' 26. Forestville Eagles forced 19 Noarlunga City Southern Tigers turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including 37 on the defensive glass. Forestville Eagles looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Noarlunga City Southern Tigers' players. The best player for the winners was naturalized South Sudanese forward Malith Machar (198, college: Midland CC) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Greg Mays (203-1993, college: Green Bay) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Four Forestville Eagles players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Anthony Green (208-1996, college: Northeastern) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and Nicholas Logan added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forestville Eagles will meet at home North Adelaide Rockets in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will play against Eastern Mavericks (#7) in Mt. Barker and hope to get finally their first victory.
