Regular Season Round 4: SD Spartans - SC Phoenix 73-86

Date: April 1, 2023
Very predictable result when top-ranked Phoenix (2-0) beat on the road bottom-ranked Brisbane Spartans (0-2) 86-73 on Saturday. Phoenix forced 22 Brisbane Spartans turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jamaal Robateau (196-1994, college: Gardner-Webb) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and naturalized New Zealand Jonathan Janssen (205-1995, college: HPU) who added 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Koen Sapwell (193-1999, college: CS Monterey) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Alexander Mudronja (196-1999, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Phoenix keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 8 other teams. Loser Brisbane Spartans still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 7 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
