Very expected game in Alexandria where bottom-ranked Bankstown Bruins (0-4) were defeated by top-ranked Sydney City Comets (4-0) 97-87 on Saturday. Sydney City Comets dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Bankstown Bruins' 34. They outrebounded Bankstown Bruins 44-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Archer Woodhill who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Ilisia Washington (194-1998, college: Regis Univ.) who added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Dragan Elkaz (196-1999, college: UC Riverside) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and guard Miguel Campos (187-2000) scored 12 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sydney City Comets have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hume City B.
