Regular Season Round 10: USC Rip - Rockhampton R. 94-84

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Rip City (3-1) beat bottom-ranked Rockets (0-5) in Sippy Downs 94-84 on Saturday. Rip City shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Forward Corey Shervill (201-1998, college: St.Edward's) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Brandon Wood (188-1989, college: Michigan St., agency: Interperformances) supported him with 26 points and 8 assists. Even 23 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Wesley Harris (203-1997, college: Tennessee St.) did not help to save the game for Rockets. His fellow American import guard Jarvis Summers (190-1993, college: Ole Miss, agency: Haylett Sports) added 17 points and 10 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for lost side. Four Rockets players scored in double figures. Rip City have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Logan T. and NGC Seahawks. Loser Rockets still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Cockburn C. and Brisbane C.. Rip City will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rockets will play against Phoenix (#8) in Cotton Tree and hope to get finally their first victory.
