There was an upset when higher ranked Townsville Heat (3-4) lost to twelfth ranked Roar (2-2) in Brisbane 88-97 on Saturday. Roar outrebounded Townsville Heat 52-39 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Nelson Larkins (180-1996) notched 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the effort and American forward Jaylen Key (203-1997, college: New Orleans, agency: One Motive Sports) supported him with 24 points and 14 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Even 19 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) by power forward Kane Runnalls (206-2004) did not help to save the game for Townsville Heat. Guard Ethan Betts (188-1998, college: Umpqua CC) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Roar moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Townsville Heat lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Roar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Brisbane to the arena .
