Very predictable result when top-ranked Salties (5-0) edged 8th ranked Flames (3-5) in Townsville 66-63 on Saturday. Salties outrebounded Flames 45-29 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Erin Bollmann (180-1994, college: SEMO) notched 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and forward Chelsea Brook (188-1998) supported her with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Five Salties players scored in double figures. Salties' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by forward Majella Carey (180) did not help to save the game for Flames. Guard Stephanie Reid (168-1996, college: Buffalo) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Salties have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place.
