Everything went according to plan in Runcorn where third ranked Pirates (6-2) outscored 13th ranked Force (2-5) 97-77 on Sunday. Pirates looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Lulu Twidale (174-2005) who scored 38 points (!!!) (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Maddison Rocci (169-1998) chipped in 25 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Maria Blazejewski (185-1991, college: LSSU) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Georgia Ralph added 19 points respectively for the guests. Four Force players scored in double figures. Force's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Pirates moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Force dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Pirates will meet Rollers (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Force will play against Rip City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
