There was no surprise when 6th ranked Warriors (3-6) were outplayed at home by leader Devils (9-0) 88-45 on Sunday. Devils held Warriors to an opponent 20.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.9 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Devils forced 25 Warriors turnovers and outrebounded them 55-29 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Amanda Paschal (170-1996, college: Kentucky) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian forward Sarah Bennett (180, college: Toronto) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Paschal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Melissa Prior produced 5 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian guard Haille Nickerson (170, college: Memorial) added 10 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Warriors' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Devils. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Loser Warriors keep the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Canberra N. and Lakeside L.. Devils will meet Suns (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Warriors will play against Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
