There was no surprise when 14th ranked Roar (2-6) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Brisbane Spartans (5-5) 88-83 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Brisbane Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Koen Sapwell (193-1999, college: CS Monterey) fired 30 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international forward Akoldah Gak (208-2002) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Brisbane Spartans' coach Peter Crawford used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jaylen Key (203-1997, college: New Orleans, agency: One Motive Sports) produced 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Nelson Larkins (180-1996) added 25 points respectively for lost side. Brisbane Spartans have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ballarat M. and Illawarra H. 2. Roar lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with Cockburn C..
