Very predictable result in Northbridge where sixth ranked Redbacks (7-3) defeated 11th ranked Cougars (3-7) 82-78 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American guard Bryton Hobbs (183-1991, college: Northeastern St.) who scored 32 points. Swingman Tevin Jackson (202-1994, college: McNeese St.) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Courtney Alexander (203-1997, college: Tenn Tech) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Taj Benning (193-1998, college: Fairfield) added 22 points respectively. Redbacks have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Cougars dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Bendigo B. and Eastern M.. Redbacks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cougars will play against Eagles (#13) and hope to secure a win.
