Everything went according to plan in Sutherland where seventh ranked Sharks (7-5) outleveled 14th ranked Hills Hornets (2-10) 83-43 on Saturday. Sharks made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Hills Hornets turnovers. The former international guard Lauren Nicholson (183-1993, college: St.Mary's, CA) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winners and forward Madeleine Norris (188-1998) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Taylah Cottees responded with 15 points and Taryn Mahoney (180, college: Miles CC) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sharks moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Knox R. and Maitland M. Loser Hills Hornets keep the fourteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Illawarra H.. Sharks will meet at home Panthers (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hills Hornets will play against Spireds and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
