There was no surprise in Penrith where 13th ranked Panthers (3-9) were crushed by first ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (12-1) 114-61 on Saturday. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles forced 23 Panthers turnovers and outrebounded them 38-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Panthers' players. Forward Alex Delaney (183-1995, college: SFC) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and forward Felicity Henderson (180-2004) chipped in 13 points and 9 assists. Five Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Megan Jefferson (190, college: Hawaii) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and forward Chloe Williams (190-2005, college: Tulsa) scored 15 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. They maintain first place with 12-1 record. Loser Panthers dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Inner WB. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will meet at home Mustangs (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Panthers will play against Sharks (#7) in Sutherland and hope to secure a win.
