Rather predictable result in Runaway Bay where eleventh ranked Seahawks (4-4) defeated 13th ranked Townsville Heat (3-9) 90-86 on Saturday. Seahawks dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Townsville Heat's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Kody Stattmann (202-2000, college: Virginia) who scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Biwali Bayles (185-2002, college: Hawaii) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Four Seahawks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Marcellus Garrick (193-1995, college: Cal Poly) who recorded 30 points and Michael Cedar (190-1986) added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Townsville Heat's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Seahawks moved-up to ninth place, which they share with SC Phoenix and USC Rip. Townsville Heat lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Bankstown B. and Penrith P.. Seahawks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Townsville Heat will play against South West Metro Pirates (#7) in Runcorn and hope to secure a win.
