There was no surprise when 10th ranked Giants (4-6) lost to fifth ranked Tigers (8-3) in Willetton 86-94 on Sunday. Tigers made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Giants turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Gorjok Gak (211-1996, college: CBU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Damien Scott (192-1992) accounted for 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Tigers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Michael Dupree (185, college: Northwest) came up with 24 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and the other American import Lafonzo Smith (206, college: Benedict) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Giants in the defeat. Five Tigers and four Giants players scored in double figures. Tigers moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Giants keep the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with Keilor T.. Tigers will meet at home Senators (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Giants will play against the league's leader Hawks and hope to secure a win.
