Regular Season Round 14: RedCity R. - NGC Seahawks 78-88

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Roar (0-10) lost to eleventh ranked Seahawks (5-5) in Brisbane 78-88 on Friday. Seahawks forced 24 Roar turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Alexa Held (178-1999, college: DePaul) notched 22 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and forward Bride Kennedy-Hopoate (185-1997, college: N.Mexico) supported her with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Five Seahawks players scored in double figures. Seahawks' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 30 points by American guard Donica Cosby (172-1988, college: Okla City) did not help to save the game for Roar. Guard Lilly Rotunno (170-2004) added 15 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Seahawks moved-up to tenth place. Loser Roar still closes the standings with ten games lost. They share the position with SW Slammers. Seahawks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Roar will play again against Seahawks (#10) in Runaway Bay and hopes to get finally their first victory.
