There was a surprise result in Mount Waverley where fifteenth ranked Thunder (5-7) defeated higher ranked Waverley Falcons (6-6) 92-77 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Zac Triplett (196-2001, college: Portland) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and naturalized South Sudanese guard Kuany Kuany (201-1994, college: Chaminade) who added 23 points during the contest. Four Thunder players scored in double figures. American forward Dillon Stith (201-1992, college: St.Vincent) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and guard Dexter Kernich-Drew (199-1991, college: WSU) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Thunder moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Waverley Falcons dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Ballarat M. and Hobart C.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
