Very expected game in Taigum where 9th ranked Rollers (7-6) were defeated by leader Wizards (11-0) 74-62 on Friday. The best player for the winners was Amanda Johnson who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Courtney Woods (183-1997, college: NIU) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Ariana Moorer (172-1991, college: Virginia) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds and guard Jasmine Hooper (177-1991) added 9 points respectively. Rollers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Wizards. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Loser Rollers dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Nunawading S. and Diamond VE. Wizards will meet Rip City (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rollers will play against the league's second-placed Salties (#2) and hope to secure a win.
